A Dark Tale Unveiled

“Don’t Knock Twice” introduces players to a sinister world brimming with dark secrets and supernatural occurrences. The game’s narrative revolves around a mother’s desperate search for her estranged daughter, who is believed to be entangled with an urban legend – the malevolent witch. As players progress, they uncover a web of haunting mysteries that lead them deeper into a realm where reality and the supernatural intertwine.

The game’s storytelling prowess is evident through well-crafted environmental details and found documents that reveal the chilling backstory. The palpable sense of dread and suspense will have players hooked from the first knock on the door.

I played this game on my PlayStation 5 without any VR in place, my large screen pulled down, and all of the lights off. I enjoyed the game play from the beginning. With eerie mood setting by the game and an intriguing story line, I found myself immersed into the game until I found I lost all my axes, preventing game progress until I restarted the game. Oof So I restarted the game and played it all the way through my second play through.

Immersive Game play

Stepping into the shoes of the protagonist, players must navigate through a series of spine-tingling environments, each laden with clues and puzzles that propel the story forward. The game strikes a balance between exploration and survival horror, requiring players to use their wits to solve easy puzzles while evading otherworldly threats.

Throughout the game, the sinister atmosphere is heightened by the haunting sound design and meticulously crafted visuals. The flickering candlelight, creaking floorboards, and unnerving ambient sounds all contribute to an overwhelming sense of dread. The heart-pounding tension and jump scares are executed with finesse, making every moment an adrenaline-pumping experience.

In Conclusion

I would recommend this game, even though it has a lower score on many critic cites and is a quick play. I think this game is amazing when looking for a video game that will immerse you into a horror setting. You ARE searching through this mansion, looking for your daughter, and only having clues as your option for resolving the mystery. I enjoy horror games like this that you can sit and play with a party of friends instead of watching a horror movie. The run time is great at 2-3 hours for a party setting. Another part I enjoy is the NO COMBAT! Yes- like a horror story, walking simulator some may say, the eerie atmosphere is enough. Just sit back and enjoy the game.

Scare Score: 5/10
