Where imagination meets innovation

What is PLA?

PLA (Polylactic acid), is a thermoplastic (low melting point that becomes molten when heated, solid when cooled, and can be re-melted or molded after cooling).

What is it made from?  PLA is made from renewable resources such as corn starch or sugar cane.  It is NOT made of fossil fuels.

Is it Environmentally friendly? PLA uses 65% less energy than producing fossil fuel plastics, generates 68% fewer greenhouse gasses and contains NO toxins. It can be recycled and industrial composted.

What do I need to know when buying PLA printed goods?  PLA is food safe!  You can use it safely in food preparation, medical supplies and as chewing toys.

PLA starts to warp at temperatures above 110 degrees F.

What if I have a starch or corn allergy?  PLA is SAFE for someone with these allergies due to the processing, hence it being used so much in food packaging and disposable cutlery.
